HOW MONTHLY ACCESS FEES ARE CALCULATED:
that ADSTONE DESIGNS transferred all their work and archived it as well.  Although retired from memorials,  Joe and a small group of designers wanted to share and sell their work.  Thus GemRock.com was born in 1995.  GemRock had been many things to many people, but has since found its niche.  During 2001, Gemrock changed its name to MyDrawingBoard.com when prompted to do so by another archive which decided to turn its designs over to MyDrawingBoard.com and close their doors. This opened the gates for designers from many different industries to discover and employ our new, more universal site.  GemRock has been from the start a BBS  (Bulletin Board Service.)  Artists contributed freely and some with great passion.  Contributing artists receive free access.   Since all contributors send a single file in .DXF format (most often DXF) Joe also has the chore of converting the DXF's into the several other formats we offer.  Over the years we have had some of the best artists from across several trades contribute.   We pride ourselves in that.  Names like Joe Auricchio, Ken Dyal,  Bill Piesher, Moses Lietz, Hugo Calderara, Mark Turco, Peter Maramorato, Ed Zawalsky, Derick Earp and several others are represented at the Drawing Board.            Bottom  line is that  MyDrawingBoard is a huge library where you and so many others take what you require and contribute what you can.  (Contribution of drawings nor of fees are not a requirement for membership, most members are strictly downloaders.  This is an archive. By definition it is a online resource for education, historical and commercial vector art.) The network itself is supported by hosted websites, e-commerce, and HTML design - which Joe handles also. The bandwidth required to "host" MyDrawingBoard.com is increased, decreased and calculated by the fees paid monthly per member.  Fees are calculated as explained below.  As long as there are members paying the bandwidth fees, MyDrawingBoard.com will be here for you. Fees are calculated twice yearly - May and December then applied forward to the next calculation. The math is as follows: Total monthly expenses plus cash on hand divided by the number of present members. For example, if expenses are $1,200.00 plus cash on hand is $200 that eqials $1,000 divided by present membership - let's say 20 members - equals $50 per member per month.
